Dr. Sudip Kumar Ghose

"Dr. Sudip Kumar Ghose, Associate Professor, is a Post Graduate in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and an M. Phil (Applied Economics) from Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Trivandrum. He received his Ph. D degree in Economics from the University of Birmingham in the U.K. for his thesis on 'Decision-Making under Uncertainty-An Empirical Assessment of George Shackle's Theories'. He started his professional career with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and served in different departments of RBI before joining the Institute in August 1999."

He has published papers in reputed national and international journals. He conducts professional development programmes in the area of risk management, treasury management and capital market.

Dr. S. Arumugam

"Dr. S. Arumugam, Assistant Professor, is an Post Graduate in Commerce and holds a Ph.D. in Finance. His Ph.D thesis is on "The Effect of Diversification on Risk and Return in Equity Investment". He holds a Post Graduate diploma in econometrics. He has attended the Financial Investment Technology Programme at Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, United States of America, during 2001-02. Portfolio management, financial markets and institutions, insurance and pension funds are his areas of specialisation."

He has designed, structured and conducted many executive development programmes on financial markets and institutions, portfolio analysis and strategies, financial mathematics, and investment research. To benefit the research scholars, he has also designed and structured the "Workshop on Research Methodology in Financial Markets", which is being conducted periodically at different places.

He has published several research papers in leading academic journals. He is a co-editor of the books "Indian Capital Markets: Modern Perspectives and Empirical Evidences" and "Indian Capital Markets: Trends and Dimensions". He co-ordinated the Third Capital Market Conference in 1999 and jointly co-ordinated Second Capital Markets Conference in 1998 at IICM. He has also been associated with consultancy projects of the Institute. He has been visiting faculty to XLRI, Jamshedpur, National Insurance Academy, Pune, National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai, International School of Financial Planning, Mumbai and Bombay Stock Exchange.

Dr. Rachana Baid

Dr. Rachana Baid, Assistant Professor, is an Post Graduate in commerce with first rank from Osmania University. She holds a PhD. in finance on the topic "Management of NBFCs-A Study of Selected Units".

At IICM, she is involved in training programmes relating to Capital Markets, Mutual Funds etc for the professionals in the Indian capital market as well as for the International participants.


She was the member of a team constituted by BankWorld Inc, Washington, DC as local capital market expert to assess United States Agency for International Development (USAID) assistance to Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and its future technical assistance needs. She is working on assignment for government of India in Investor Education & Protection. She has been involved in consultancy/advisory assignments for UTI mutual fund and Association of Mutual Funds in India. She was part of the secretariat to assist the panel for National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance 2001.

She has developed a courseware for Australian Securities Institute & Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) on "Mutual Fund Industry - Products and Services" for Diploma in Financial Advising. She is Chief Examiner in Investment Management area for IIBF, India.

She has about a dozen research papers to her credit in leading journals. She has been a visiting faculty to IIM, Indore, S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research and many other management schools in the areas of Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management, and Financial Markets and Intermediaries. She has been guest faculty at National Academy of Audits and Accounts (NAAA) and Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC).
